Amazon was the company with the largest presence at CES 2020 with Alexa

Amazon's Alexa devices have become one of the company's most successful devices. According to an interview with Dave Limp, Amazon's Vice President of Products and Services, more than 100 million Alexa devices have been sold worldwide and that number is likely to grow.

The Amazon Echo Smart Speakers are just a small part of the unlimited features offered by Alexa technology. There are currently more than 160 different gadgets and more than 28,000 smart appliances including the Alexa assistant, which are distributed in 4,500 different brands. Thanks to the large number of products that have coupled this virtual assistant, Alexa technology already have more than 70,000 skills, which demonstrate the incredible scope of this technology.

Alexa's abundant presence at CES 2020

Recently, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest technology fair, was held in Las Vegas. At this event you could find all kinds of technological advance in the area of robotics, various prototypes of powerful smartphones, and many types of HD 8K televisions, among many others. But, among all the advanced devices that were presented in this event, there was one that secretly, was part of almost most of the presentations; this device was the virtual assistant Alexa.

Lamborghini, Lenovo, LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Asus, JBL, Dyson, iRobot or TP-Link are some of the famous brands that launched a new product that takes advantage of Amazon's technology.

It seems that Alexa devices not only seek to be present in the home, they also want to be present in all kinds of places and devices that require human presence. For that reason, Amazon is constantly making agreements with brands belonging to all kinds of sectors of the technology market, and all with the aim of expanding the scope of its virtual assistant. Thanks to the many partnerships Amazon has made, Alexa's growth has outpaced its direct competitor: Google Home. That said, Alexa will most likely become the default virtual assistant for the devices, but one must still take into account the constant growth that Google Home continues to exert in the industry.

Alexa's presence in the automotive market

At this year's CES, Alexa's presence in the automotive market was highlighted, as they claim that this is one of the spaces where voice commands are most required. The Alexa assistant is already available in the new models of vehicles from brands such as BMW, Ford and Audi, but the most outstanding vehicle of all the CES 2020 was undoubtedly the new super car presented by Lamborghini, which has the Alexa assistant integrated, and whose model is called Huracan Evo. The use of Alexa in the vehicles can provide the user with the state of the weather, traffic forecasts, and management of their agenda and the possibility of making phone calls. Another function that Alexa will use in the future, comes from an agreement between Amazon and ExxonMobil gas stations, where through the command "Alexa, pay for gas", users will be able to pay for gas without having to get out of the vehicle. This service will be present in more than 11,500 service stations in the United States.

The devices with Alexa at all times

Amazon has already confirmed that their intention is that Alexa is always present in users, for that reason, a few months ago they introduced the Amazon Echo Buds, a headset that has integrated the Alexa assistant, although the idea of some buds associated with a virtual assistant is already being used by several companies. The JBL brand has also announced a series of headphones called CLUB, which will integrate Alexa and will be focused on a more professional audience.

The companies LG, Samsung and Hisense presented at CES their new series of televisions that integrate Alexa, while the brands Asus and Lenovo have presented their new laptops with the mentioned virtual assistant. In addition to the conventional proposals, other less renowned brands have launched all kinds of less predominant household products with Alexa, such as: intelligent mirrors and bathtubs, grills, wine coolers, bicycle helmets, among other types of products.

Virtual assistants will dominate the future of home technology and it is quite likely that Alexa will be the default choice in this area. Amazon has made better use of its commercial connections and has made the two best moves that can be made with this type of product: First it expanded the products that make up its system, because the greater the quantity of products, the greater the number and types of consumers. Secondly, Amazon offered products for all types of economic ranges, this is reflected in the various models of Amazon Echo and the different price standards among them.

Amazon should continue to take control in the technology market and if their initiative is successful, Alexa devices will become part of people's daily lives wherever they are.
